What to expect from your newborn session.
Your newborn session is designed to be calm, baby-led, and stress-free from start to finish. The process begins when you contact me to share which newborn photography package best fits your growing family. As an Edmonds newborn photographer specializing in safe and no-stress sessions, I’ll send you all the details right away so you feel supported from the very start.
We’ll reserve your session with a retainer and a signed agreement and we'll get your due date on my list to ensure I'm not overbooked when your baby is born. Once baby is born I'd like to hear from you within 3 days so we can finalize your session date. This ensures your newborn photography experience is officially on my calendar.. We typically want to schedule your session within the first 5 to 15 days after birth for those sweet, sleepy poses, Exceptions are made for babies who who have a stay in the NICU, and lifestyles sessions are great for those older newborns.
I’ll guide you in preparing for the day, from what to expect in my warm, cozy Edmonds newborn studio to how we’ll move at your baby’s pace. Before your session you will get my exclusive client guides so you are prepared from A-Z. Sessions include plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and snuggles — there’s never any rush.
When the day arrives, simply bring your baby and enjoy the process. I use gentle posing techniques and create a safe, calm environment. Parents are welcome to be part of the newborn session and siblings are welcome during lifestyle sessions, I have a full selection of wraps and setups to choose from for studio sessions, and mom and baby have access to my client closet for lifestyle sessions..
After your session, I'll send over a proofing gallery to select all your favorites from the session.. You’ll receive a lovely set of images that feel cozy, minimal, and classic. This session is a studio session and held at my home studio the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month.
