What Makes Edmonds a Great Location for Maternity Photos?

Edmonds has always been one of my favorite locations for maternity photography. One of the things I love most about photographing in Edmonds is how much variety there is within a relatively small area. We don't have to choose between beaches, waterfront views, and greenery, because they're all within just a few minutes of each other. This makes it easy to create a gallery with a variety of backdrops without spending your session driving between locations. On the same evening, we can photograph along the Edmonds Waterfront, find pockets of greenery beneath tall trees, or take advantage of the views around Meadowdale Beach Park. It's all localized and convenient, which is music to an expectant mother's ears.

The scenery in Edmonds changes throughout the year, which means no two sessions feel exactly the same. Summer evenings bring warm light, while fall offers rich colors and fun park sessions. We actually get some of the best lighting on our overcast days, turning the beaches and wooded areas into a beautiful backdrop that feels distinctly Pacific Northwest. Add in views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and the passing ferries, and you've got a location that offers something special in every direction.

When helping families choose a location, Edmonds is always at the top of my list. I might be biased because it's local to me, but Edmonds really does have the best of everything. It's beautiful, it's really easy to drive to, and parking is usually a breeze. Because I regularly photograph families in Edmonds, I know which locations work best throughout the year, and which areas provide the best experience. Unlike many locations around the Seattle area, Edmonds offers easy access to waterfront views without long walks or crowded urban settings, making it an easy choice.

One of the reasons I continue returning to Edmonds for maternity sessions is that it never feels overly busy or rushed. There are plenty of quiet areas where families can relax, take their time, and enjoy the experience without feeling like they're competing with crowds for space.
