One of my favorite parts of being a milestone photographer in Edmonds is getting to watch local families grow. Unlike maternity or newborn photography, milestone sessions often take place months after our first interactions. Many of the babies I photograph during milestone sessions are little ones I first met during their newborn session, and it's always amazing to see just how much they have changed in such a short period of time. It really is an honor to capture these milestones and being able to provide a tangible way for parents to remember these special stages in their little one's life.

Because Edmonds is both my home and the home of my business, I often run into families long after their session is over. I'll see parents out at local parks, community events, or around town with babies who were once tiny newborns in my studio. The little one who could barely hold their head up during their sitter session is suddenly walking, talking, and showing off a big personality of their own. It's an unexpected perk of my job, and one I get so much joy out of each time it happens.

That's one of the things I love most about serving families in Edmonds. These sessions don't feel like one-time appointments with strangers. They feel like small pieces of a much larger story. I have the privilege of documenting some of the most meaningful stages of childhood while also being part of the same community where those memories are being made and these little ones are growing up. I provide you with beautiful pictures, and in return I get a sense of community I truly didn't feel before I started photographing newborns and growing babies.

Milestone photography is about so much more than celebrating a baby's ability to sit, crawl, or stand. It's about preserving a stage that disappears almost as quickly as it arrives. One day they're wobbling as they learn to sit independently, and before you know it they're running across the playground and chatting with anyone who will listen.

Milestone photography provides an opportunity to pause and remember exactly who they were during this chapter of their story. Watching Edmonds families grow is one of the greatest joys of what I do, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be trusted with documenting those memories year after year.
